I think it all started with my love for horror movies as a teen. The scarier the better. Unfortunately, horror movies just aren’t what they used to be, so I need to get my thrill with all things creepy and strange another way.
Fast forward to being a young, married parent. I distinctly remember watching a movie with my now ex-husband one night. We were curled up on the couch watching some action flick after our little ones had gone to bed. About halfway through the movie we heard footsteps coming from the hall above us. There was nobody else in the house, and our twins were too little to walk at the time (not to mention their room was on the same floor we were watching TV on.) Even the dog heard it and went berserk. I immediately thought someone had broken into our home. I jumped up, grabbed a poker for our wood burning stove, and went to investigate. I checked all the doors to make sure they were locked, followed by all the windows. Cautiously, I headed up the stairs to the hall where I heard someone walking. I flipped on all the lights, checked the bedrooms and even the bathroom. There wasn’t anyone on the upper level except me. Everything was closed and locked, so there couldn’t be an intruder. My next thought raised the hair on the back of my neck: what if it was a ghost?
This incident opened me up to the world of ghosts. I had always believed in them, but had never had any experiences, so my belief was vague at best; kind of the way one believes in winning lottery numbers. I have had experiences since then, but I will save those for another post.
This site is dedicated to all things paranormal. I want stick mainly with the ghost stories of Colorado, but am open to all paranormal activity and might even review a haunted house or two.
Maybe if I am brave enough, I will check out some of the haunted locations in the area myself and report my findings back here.
Happy Haunting everyone.
